2.7 stars from us. + Rump steak is delicious + Service ok - Unfortunately we don't like the beer at all ... and that's a real no-go for a brewery! Regardless of whether it is light ... whether it is dark, the beer tastes stale and bland.

Very solid to eat something in between in Kastel. Unfortunately, waiters are not always attentive.

Last time there was two years ago. We were disappointed at the time because we had to pay for a completely inedible meal, despite a complaint (before that it was always delicious). Now we have started another attempt, the birthday child wanted to go. it was very crowded and there were far too few staff. The staff were very nice, but clearly overwhelmed .. actually inhuman to burn them like that! you sat forever until you could reorder .. the slimmed down menu is sufficient, but it no longer tastes so good. Portions are large, you will definitely be full. The gravy only tastes 0815, the schnitzel with a malt crust was more than cross .. Salad very tasty .. All in all, we probably won't come again.

Their menu, presentation and service are excellent. On Saturday September 19, we celebrated our marriage with our family. They served us on their terrace, which is spacious and beautiful. Generally, we go there for dinner two or three times a month. The house beer is delicious.

Waited over an hour for the food. Had 3 children between 5 and 9 years. At least they could be brought the food, they ordered french fries with nuggets. The food wasn't the best either. The food used to be better. Very disappointed.

The beer is delicious and the food is recommended too! In the beer garden you can sit well and spend time.

A nice cozy brewery, inside and out, but that's about it. The service is overwhelmed with terrace and indoor areas alone. The second person now and then carries two glasses of beer to the table without a tray. The whole thing seems very unprofessional and inefficient. It takes a while to get the menu and order something to drink. The food was unfortunately not hot and very dry, but the beer was warm. After complaining about the dry roast, there was only one apology. Compensation in no way - which I wasn't after, but well. I won't go there again anytime soon.

The staff and the food are consistently excellent. No matter what I've ordered, I have always enjoyed it. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed how the quality of the food has deteriorated since our last visit in October 2019. From top address to no thanks .. no taste, loveless and simply no longer recommendable. Heike and Matthias

Good value for money. Food tastes good and has a good portion. The service is friendly and nice. Toilets are in the basement.

Good food and beer. Nothing great or terrible about this place.

Atmosphere is cozy. The home-brewed beer tasted good. The steak and chicken schnitzel had been tender. Had to max. Wait 35 minutes for the meal. The service staff were friendly. You can spend your time here very well. There is a star deduction due to the difficulty of finding a parking space when the restaurant is well attended. To my taste, liver dumpling soup was also a little too strong.

Third time in one year - this time a very bad experience. 70 minutes from the time we ordered till they brought the food. The fish was definitely not fresh and it looked like it was cooked for a second time. Never again!

Three tries. Never again. Raw chicken, sausages from a box, and never any flavor with the meals. If you ask for sauce it’ll most likely come in a packet.

UPDATE- All of the below still stands, with the exception of when they happen to have a large party or event when you are there. We were told by the server that it may take a while for us to get our food (approximately 45 minutes) due to a large party. I didn't see any extra people at the restaurant and the parking lot wasn't packed (not to say their upstairs wasn't packed) so we said what the heck- we're not in a rush, let's enjoy the evening. 45 minutes isn't too bad. Over 2 hours later, no food, server barely came by to update us, the sun's gone down and our toddler is starving. I've never had an experience like that so I'm sure it's not typical, but it was a bit excessive. When our food did come, some was missing. Some of the sides were wrong. If someone at our table hadn't hunted the waitress down I don't think we would ever have gotten our food. I'll still go, but I'll be sure they don't have an event going on. A good, consistently yummy German meal. I've come here several times for business and leisure. It's become "the place" we bring friends/family who visit and want a taste of German food. The schniztels never disappoint, and the other items on the menu are hard to beat. Good value (priced well). Friends also enjoy the beer here (I'm not a drinker, but I hear it's nice). The service and staff are always friendly and very responsive. It's obvious that they are used to catering to Americans because the food comes out a bit faster than you might find at other German restaurants. But to be frank, sometimes we just want a "quicker" dining out experience like we're used to in the states, with good food, and we get that here. We'll be coming back again during our time here in Germany for sure!

Made a large group reservation. Staff accommodated without issue. Food and drinks kept coming out throughout the evening cooked to order. Food was seasoned well and the seasonal specials looked pretty good too. There is parking available and on the road adjacent. This is a large and sometimes loud establishment. Good for couples and large groups.

These people are heroes. They literally put a liter and a half of beer in a Haribo bucket for us to take home. It was great food and beer, but this customer service solidifies this as a 5 star review.

Probably depends on everyones taste, but for me was one of the best beer ever had, their own brewed beer, very tasty. Food is also great, staff is friendly. Highly recomend for those looking a german specific theme restaurant.

Great place for large groups. There are a ton of delicious hearty German classics on the menu that won’t disappoint. The beer is also really good. The food comes out very quickly once ordered.

Great atmosphere, great food and great service for Americans who do not speak German! Had such a great experience we went back a second time during our 6 day trip.

Great food and they brew their own delicious beer. Great for groups and they have their own parking lot but if you come late the parking lot gets pretty full.

Great german restarant. They have large portions of very good food and good beers made in house. The staff is very friendly and attentive too. Well worth a visit if your in the area and looking for German food and beers.

Stumbled upon this place today and we don't regret it. Family friendly, Bavaria themed restaurant. The beer is house made and delicious. I had the baked fish which was superb. Highly recommend if you're in the Mainz Kastel area!
